Giving the gift of fitness isn't always easy. You don't want to insult people by implying you think they're unfit, overweight or ineffective with their workouts.
But you do want to be helpful and kind.
"You have to be tactful. Give it and say, 'I love you and I want you to be healthy for a while,' " said Sarah Swaim, a personal trainer at Fitness Together, 7266 N. Oracle Road.

"If they show interest in getting in shape, you can be supportive. These things are not offensive gifts," Swaim said.
