Purse thief dies after struggle at grocery

Tucson, AZ - A suspected purse snatcher died Friday afternoon after struggling at a Midtown grocery store with several people who were trying to detain him before police arrived.

The man was stealing purses and wallets from patrons inside the Grocery Outlet, 5667 E. Speedway, near North Craycroft Road, around 3:30 p.m. when several employees tried to stop him, said Sgt. Mark Robinson, a Tucson Police Department spokesman.
